Obituary for Betty L. Johnson
Betty Love Ferguson-Curtis- Johnson was born to Willie and Bobbie Ferguson on December 7, 1942 in Chester South Carolina. Betty was the third child born through this union.
Betty received her early childhood education in Chester South Carolina until 1952. Willie and Bobbie moved their family to Wilmington Delaware where she graduated from p.s. Dupont High School.
Betty was a dedicated employee of Strawbridge & Clothier, now known as Macy's, where she retired after close to 40 years of service.
During Betty's early adult life, she met and married Bill Curtis. Of this union, Tony D. Curtis was born. He was her only child. Tony gave Betty two Grandchildren, Tony Lee Williams and Dorea Danielle Curtis, who adored Betty beyond words, prior to his death at the age of 30.
Later in life, Betty met, fell in love, and married the late Euvie Johnson, who departed this life shortly after their marriage. Betty stated that this was a "Very special love and marriage one that some people will never know or have, and that it would always remain in my heart".
Betty leaves to cherish five loving siblings; Jean Goldsberry, Ethel Black, Nathaniel Ferguson Sr. .Iuanita Weathers, and Patricia Ferguson. Adopted Daughter; Bobbie Juanita Ferguson. One Granddaughter; Dorea Curtis. Two Great Granddaughters; Brezeana Goodridge and Maliyah Willingham. Two Great-Great Grandsons; Noah Goodridge and Hayden Perkins. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty was the church mother and trustee at Gospel Time C.O.G.l.C, where she will sorely be missed. She also was an active member of the "Ferguson Family Singers."
